About Moraira Cycling

Moraira Cycling was originally founded by Jan van Dalen, who in the early 1980s was one of the top amateur cyclists in the Netherlands. After his career as a professional cyclist, he began creating custom-made DUELL frames. In late 2011, Jan moved to Spain – to Moraira on the Costa Blanca – where his idea for Moraira Cycling was born. Over the past years, Jan has worked incredibly hard to establish this wonderful business.

Since Friday, March 13th, 2026, we – Rikke Dijkxhoorn and Kimberley Wiersma – have taken over Moraira Cycling from Jan, who will now enjoy his well-deserved free time in this beautiful environment. Therefore we would like to introduce ourselves as the new faces of Moraira Cycling:

In December 2025, we immigrated with our two children to Jávea/Xàbia. Now that we are settled, it's time for us to continue running this wonderful bike rental business that Jan started. We have a strong connection to the cycling industry: Rikke has raced semi-professionally for many years, worked at a bike shop doing sales & repairs at Bike Totaal Paul Willemsen, and was an Accountmanager at BBB Cycling. As for me, Kimberley, I know firsthand what it’s like living with a passionate cyclist, and I also enjoy riding up a hill myself. Additionally, my background in HR and a keen eye for detail & administration ensure that everything within our company runs smoothly and efficiently. We complement each other very well, allowing us to focus on providing the best service to our customers.

So therefore, this is the perfect opportunity for us to embark on this cycling adventure. We look forward to meeting you soon and offering you a fantastic cycling experience!
